         1.Is Affiliate Marketing For me?

You may be asking, it is alright for some talented people-but ” Can I do it?”

Many a time I come across this question.

Now I want to clear all your reservations and fears, and doubts. Here is what people usually say:

                              Garyvee

Garyvee (Gary Vaynerchuk) is a prolific creator of content.

              2. Overcome Hurdles Of Self-Doubt

  1. I do not have technical skills,

               2.  I do not have money,

3.  I am employed and do not have time,

              4.  I am a house-wife,

None of these is a hurdle as we can see below. All that is required a mindset and commitment.

 3. It is a great way to make passive income.

    1. Each one has a different background and potential. But a good mentor will be able to leverage it out by proper skill set training.
    2. Education, though generally does not matter, has an impact on self-learning and scaling up. (You can always hire someone with the capacity to help as required)
    3. A keen desire and commitment are required, whatever be the profession.
    4. It is a business, and like any other business, one must have a mindset of an Entrepreneur.

     4.Advantages of Affiliate Model

    • While you are off working at your full-time job, your affiliate links and blog posts will be working in the background. With the right combination of SEO and engaging, honest authoritative writing, you could be looking at a passive income cash cow.
    • You do not need marketing experience. You do not need any sales experience to become an affiliate. It may be helpful to know SEO.  And writing skill is handy. Never mind even if you do not have it, we can still manage.
    • Affiliates work from anywhere and at any time. With only a bit of time + money investment upfront (setting up a website, getting set up with affiliate programs, and creating content with your affiliate links) you can start making money.

     5. The Flip-side To Take Care-of

    • You have zero control over the offers, products, or services.
    • You do not have to mess with products (creating, distributing, selling) but at the same time, you don’t have any control over what you are promoting, either.
    • It can be competitive.
    • Affiliate marketing is relatively simple, so there will be plenty of other affiliates out there competing for clicks and leads – some of them with years of experience behind them. But competition can be overcome by creatively adding value to the customer experience. I will tell you when you come for coaching.
    • There are scams. Affiliate marketers need to be wary of scams and fraudulent affiliate programs. By selecting reputed product lines and selecting only products you have personal experience with, you can overcome scams. If we only take care to build our links with reputed companies this can be avoided.

          6. Learn From Masters And Perfect

 The Eight Affiliate Revenue Models

Now let’s take a look at the eight affiliate models by which affiliate marketers earn revenue for themselves and their advertisers in millions.

Pay-Per-Sale

This is the most popular pay structure for affiliate marketers. You earn either a set percentage or a flat fee for every sale that happens as a result of customers clicking through your site.

Pay-Per-Lead

In this system, the merchant pays you a small fee for each visitor you get to take a specific non-sale action. This can be opting in to receive an eBook or complete a form to get a call from a sales representative. The general goal here is to convert a visitor into a solid lead and allow the merchant to capture the visitor’s contact information.

While these leads are easier to convert than actual sales, merchants will pay you significantly less for leads than they would pay for sales.

Merchants will pay you if you can get site visitors to take specific action such as signing up for a free trial or joining a community. Pay-per-action opportunities are usually designed to grab a visitor’s contact information by offering them a freebie that’s a bit more valuable than just a free book or a hot new report.

Pay-Per-Action:

Pay-per-action opportunities are usually designed to grab a visitor’s contact information by offering them a freebie that’s a bit more valuable than just a free book or a hot new report…

Pay-Per-Click

Google AdSense popularized this type of revenue scheme. With pay-per-click ads, you earn a small commission every time a visitor clicks on a text link, display ad, or video that takes the visitor to a third-party website. You can choose to be paid per click or per thousand impressions

Pay-Per-Call

If you have ever conducted a Google search from your phone and found a “Call” hyperlink underneath a business listing, you are already familiar with the pay-per-call structure. Merchants use call tracking technology to determine which affiliates are responsible for which customers. Affiliates earn a flat fee for every call their site visitors make to the merchant’s

.

Pay-Per-Post

This model targets bloggers who can write and publish product reviews or sponsored posts on their websites. Blogger affiliates received a one-time payment for their posts. Nowadays social share influencers are preferred.

Influencer Marketing

Influencer marketing is a glorified form of the pay-per-post model. People with a sizable dedicated following in social media group in a particular niche accepted as experts, recommend, and promote. This brings more customers to the merchants.

Webmaster Referrals

Webmaster referrals are another form of referral marketing. If an affiliate promotes other affiliates to a group of merchant’s promotional  programs, the first referring affiliate receives a commission which is always either one-time, short-term, or lifetime commissions on the new affiliate’s earnings depending upon the agreement between merchant and Publisher (Affiliate Associate)

7.Understanding the Audience

Mahatma Gandhi once famously said, “A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption…”

The very existence of a business is to serve his/her Clients and the higher the quality of this service the better will be the user experience. And they keep coming back again.

Where do start our customer search?

But before we talk about customers let us delve into the market forces involved

         8. Product owner- Affiliate- Buyer

Commonly, there are only two entities for any sale; the product seller at one end and the buyer at the other end.

It is a bit different because Affiliate associate acts as a bridge between Product-seller and buyer. It needs to be more carefully looked into as such.

So, as an Affiliate, you need to understand both your Merchant as well as your buyer.

Without anyone of them, you can not do any business or earn a commission.

Merchant or Product Owner

There many merchants looking for affiliate promoters. How you can select a merchant depends on these key points:

      1. Only select  Merchants who have the product you want of high quality with a fast supply chain. Do they sync with your audience?
      2. You become justified and authentic, only if you recommend products or services by satisfactorily using and testing them.
      3. Find out from search engines, social media networks, and product reviews. If need be, purchase one for yourself for testing.
      4. What payment gateways merchants accept? And what commission you would get by selling this product.
      5. Is this a market that would sustain for time to come? If it is only seasonal and you think the returns will not worth your effort-  drop it
      6. Also, take into account packaging and shipment aspects. Whether your clients will get a fair deal
      7. Is there a sound refund policy?

Buyer the Customer you promote?

      1. Your customers are your cash cows. You need to empathize with all their interests.

They trust you and buy on your recommendation. Whatever platform you sell an affiliate product, make clear that you are an affiliate for that product.

How many of them would need the product you promote?

Demographic analysis of your leads and visitors to your site is important to find out what you can offer them.

9.Not General Niche But Micro-Niche

In fact, selecting Niche is the first step. But here we are talking about Mico-Niche. Because after selecting your broader version of Niche you focus on sub- sub Niche so that you have a better chance of higher conversion

Going Deep Into The Niche

We all talk about Niche. These are five basic human needs. Upon the priorities depicted in the pyramid form. Food, health, and physiological needs are the basis for which people tend to spend money readily. Safety and security associated with wealth, Family and Children, Investment, and Insurance. Real Estate also falls under this category.

As you can see it is very wide. So, we narrow it down to a very specific area. Let us consider for example Real Estate.

How many diversified Niches you can select.

        1.  Urban
        2. Rural
        3. Residential
        4. Commercial
        5. Newly Built or Old
        6. Constructed Area Locality
        7. Built area in Sq. Mts,
        8. Multi-storied or single story

If Residential Many types of options would be there

This process will help us to arrive at Micro-niche

9.Lead generation

Having understood, the business model, now let us get to the operation. we need people to whom we offer affiliate products.

      1. Blogs and contents of high quality will attract organic traffic
      2. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other platforms.
      3. Using all the promotional methods listed earlier in this article can be used.

How to target your Prospect, Warm, and Hot leads?

Understanding prospect psyche is the first step. whether you post a blog, podcast, or video bear the following points.

There are three stages of your prospect.

Identifying your target audience involves in finding out where they assemble. Your keyword search is the beginning.

Find out what urgent problems are faced by your micro niche audience. You can find this from Google trends, Uber suggest  keyword list, Aherf or Moz.. Also in social media pose questions in the relevant groups. There you can interact with members and find out. To offer solution you carry out extensive research. This you can post as a blog,  a pod cast or a video. But you can not make the same content for all your prospects and warm and hot leads.

Three stages of Leads

Cold prospects are those who do not know you. For them you must design your content, explaining who you are how you are in a position to help them. Showing your credentials is important. This is you establish yourself as a Brand.

Those who have had some interaction with you by clicking to see your blog, or liking your podcast or social media content are “warm leads” You tell them about the benefit of your product. And if you have their email id send messages which are useful.

Next hot leads. They are ready to buy. Once they come to your link they should see call to action button to buy. They need a different content, show casing the benefits enjoyed by other users. Here is a trick. You must ask always for referral, comment or user experience.

 Funnel Tools

Setting up Sales Funnels is the most important. Much of the operations can be done efficiently using tools such as:

 1. HubSpot Growth Platform
2. PlusThis
3. Systeme.io
4. WishPond
5. Leadpages
6. ClickFunnels
7. GetResponse Autofunnel
8. Kajabi

We will see in our next blog. I will also guide you on setting up a site especially for affiliate marketing.  There I will tell you about the payment systems and tax compliance
